A Russian woman wearing a head scarf is doing laundry while kneeling on the frozen Northern Dvina River, near Arkhangelsk, Russia. It appears she used a small sled to carry the laundry and two large wooden pails to the river. In the distance there are two sleds being pulled by a beast of burden. There is also a bridge that crosses the river and a settlement on the opposite shoreline.
