Canvas Boats Land on Beach
Soldiers land on the beach in New Guinea (present day Papua New Guinea). They use collapsible canvas boats to ferry men and equipment from small coastal vessels. Indigenous men help paddle the boats. The accordion-like collapsible panels can be seen on the sterns of two canvas boats on the left. A soldier with a rifle stands in the boat in the left foreground. |
