Final Wreck of the Vin Fiz?
The second fatal wreck involving the Wright Model B airplane in which Calbreith Perry Rodgers had died a year earlier. This crash killed Andy Drew, friend and partner of Jesse Brabazon, pioneer aviator from Delavan, Wisconsin, and it caused Brabazon to give up flying. Although he had flown and exhibited the rebuilt plane as the Vin Fiz, the plane that Rodgers had flown across the country, it is more likely that Rodgers had crashed in his backup plane and it was that wreckage that was sold to Brabazon. |
