Oliver Chilled Plow Works Advertisement
| Lithographed advertising card for the Oliver Chilled Plow Works commemorating the new year, 1884. The card features two color illustrations within a gold frame of a man using a horse-drawn plow in a field, and the Oliver factory. Outside of the frame on the left is Father Time wearing a robe and holding a scythe, at the top of the gold frame is an owl, and below the gold frame a winged cherub is playing a lute. It also includes illustrations of disasters that occurred during 1883: shipwreck of the "Cimbria," earthquake in Ischia, volcanic eruption in Java (Krakatoa), a flood, and a train derailment. |
