RESTRICTED:MJS. The caption that appeared in the Milwaukee Journal with the image: Teddy Roosevelt is pictured as he left the North Western station after his arrival here Oct. 14, 1912. The police officer is Sergt. Robert Flood, later a lieutenant on the Milwaukee force and after his retirement police chief of Sheboygan. The newsboy is Howard Cunningham, now a New York executive. The man with a goatee is former Gov. George W. Peck of Wisconsin, famed as the author of "Peck's Bad Boy." At the right is Frank Cannon of Milwaukee, who later was known as "father" of Wisconsin's road system. Between Cannon and Roosevelt is Oliver Remey, 1006 E. State St., who was representing the Press club.

This image is part of the J. Robert Taylor Collection held by the Society. J. Robert Taylor (1876-1959) was the first staff photographer for the Milwaukee Journal. The collection includes 350 images created by Taylor during his work with this paper.
