Title: Wisconsin State Capitol Interior - Treasurer's Office Detail
Description: Detail of photograph of the office of the state treasurer, enlarged to show a typical lighting fixture from the third Wisconsin State Capitol. As originally installed, the chandelier was lit by gas, but the down-turned shades indicate that the fixture had been wired for electricity. By 1904 the Capitol had been wired for electricity, but two gas fixtures continued to be used at night in order to save money-a foolish economy.
