Portrait of Ruby Kubota, president of Groves Housing Co-op of the University of Wisconsin. Her father, George Kubota, came to the United States from Japan when he was 15 and settled in Metaline Falls, Washington. After working long hours in a laundry, he bought property and became a well-known resident of Metaline Falls. His daughter, Ruby, submitted many articles and letters to the local newspapers and won an 5,000 word essay contest of the American Legion on the subject of Americanism. She is a freshman journalism student at the University of Wisconsin.
DESCRIPTION
Portrait of Ruby Kubota, president of Groves Housing Co-op of the University of Wisconsin.
