| From album of portrait photographs collected by Lapham depicting scientists and artists, ca. 1860-ca. 1875. Images include portraits of geologists, botanists, sculptors, and authors. Along with George H. Walker and Byron Kilbourn, Juneau helped to incorporate the City of Milwaukee. He also started the Milwaukee Sentinal (now the Milwaukee Journal-Sentinal) in 1837. Served as the first mayor of Milwaukee from 1846-47. Handwritten inscription at bottom reads, "S. Juneau, Founder of Milw." |
