ADDITIONAL INFORMATION
They were the first couple in Wisconsin to be registered as pharmacists, with Emma (Beck) Pfeifer being granted the first certificate issued to a woman. Charles Pfeifer held many positions of importance in Plymouth, including being elected mayor in 1890 and 1892. In 1926 he contributed an original prescription counter and showcase as part of the pioneer drugstore exhibit at the State Historical Society of Wisconsin. Emma Pfeifer died in 1907 and Charles in 1939.
