St. John's Cathedral was designed by Victor Schulte in 1847 and erected in 1847-1853. This church originally had a different tower. The present tower was designed by George B. Ferry in 1892. The Cathedral has been designated a Milwaukee landmark and is listed in the National Register of Historical Places. The two top sections of the tower were removed in 1880 and replaced in 1892. |
