Page 18 of 70. Prophecy on page 17 reads, "Who is this behind the immense drum in the Salvation Army procession as it marches up and down the street, proceeding to save sinners. Possibly her conscience smites her with the remembrance of a frivolous youth. And consequently she devotes her time and energy to dragging souls from the gutter and converting the downfallen of the earth. It will be seen in the late papers that Eva Cook has converted the entire town of Weston and will soon rival Dowie in her large train of followers." Eva Charlotte Cook married Tom Swenson in 1905, weeks after graduating from high school. She died in Menomonie in 1961. Information about Eva Charlotte Cook has been researched through contemporary newspaper articles and her obituary. |
