Blind Ph.D. Candidate with Hearing Test Equipment
"With her roommate Helen Blohm (right) playing the role of the subject, Mary Louise Lane (left) checks her hearing with an audiometer. Miss Lane, blind co-ed who is working for her doctor's degree in speech, 'reads' the instrument on a specially-constructed dial." P.B. Grove of the Grove Hearing Aid service, Madison, modified the audiometer. He added a sound signal to replace hand signals and a Braille dial for Miss Lane. |
