My Hooverized Xmas Greeting
Holiday card, red ink on light brown, speckled and textured cover paper. The text appears to be referring to the economic hard times during the presidency of Herbert Hoover. Illustrations of holly, mistletoe and a bluebird appear inside a red border on the front, and are labeled with text. The greeting "My Hooverized Xmas Greeting" appears in the center. On the side is a bow made of brown string and is labeled "camouflaged ribbon." On the inside the card reads: "I've Hooverized on Pork + Beans, And Butter cake and Bread, I've cut out Auto-riding, And now I walk instead. I've Hooverized on Sugar, On Coal and Light and Lard, And here's my Xmas Greeting, On a Hoover Xmas Card. I wish you a very M.C. and a H.N.Y." Letterpress. |
