Title: Andrew Ellickson
Description: Three-quarter length oval studio portrait of Andrew Ellickson, a private of Company B, 15th Wisconsin Infantry, in uniform with bayonet sheathed on his side and holding his musket against his shoulder. The following information was obtained from the Regimental and Descriptive Rolls, Volume 20: He resided in Pleasant Springs, Wisconsin. On March 14, 1862, he enlisted and mustered into service at Madison, Wisconsin on December 02, 1861, at the age of 22. He was captured during the Battle of Chickamauga on September 19, 1863, and returned to Company B on November 19, 1863, as a paroled prisoner of war. On January 1, 1865, he was transferred to Company H and temporary attached to the 24th Wisconsin Infantry. Ellickson was then transferred to Company I, 13th Wisconsin Infantry on June 10, 1865, at Nashville, Tennessee as a paroled prisoner.
