Thomas Emmonson
Waist-up oval studio portrait of Thomas Emmonson, a private in Company C, 15th Wisconsin Infantry in uniform and wearing a kepi [forage cap] displaying a “C” on the underside of the brim. He is holding a revolver across his chest. The following information was obtained from the Regimental and Descriptive Rolls, Volume 20: He resided in Norway, Wisconsin. On March 14, 1862, he enlisted in Milwaukee, Wisconsin and mustered into service in Madison, Wisconsin on December 02, 1861, at the age of 21. He served as a teamster in supply trains and served in the Division Quarter Master Department. He died of disease on October 5, 1865, and was removed from the muster rolls on October 19, 1865. |
