Paraphrased from the back of the print: Isham reportedly was captured by the Sioux as an infant and lived with them. He eventually married a woman from the reservation and a number of his descendants live on the reservation. Gosh-gi-bosh translates to "barber" and his descendants go by the name Barber. Gosh-gi-bosh is reputed to have tended to local lumbermen afflicted with venereal diseases and other ailments. |
