Farm worker Conrado Lopez, on strike against Libby, McNeill & Libby, displays his "Huelga! — NFWA" union button with its trademark black eagle symbol in a red circle on the center. "Huelga!" means "Strike!" in Spanish. NFWA, started by Chicano activist Cesar Chavez, stood for the National Farm Workers of America whose members were predominantly Latino. In 1966, NFWA merged with the Agricultural Workers Organizing Committee (AWOC), whose members were mostly Filipino American, to form the United Farm Workers Organizing Committee (UFWOC).
