Quarter-length oval studio portrait of Ole Haraldson Ulen [as written on backing of photograph; also written as Ole H. Uhlen, Descriptive Rolls, Volume 20, published rosters: Wisconsin Volunteers: War of the Rebellion (1914) and Rosters of Wisconsin Volunteers, Volume 1 (1886)], a private in Company K, 15th Wisconsin Infantry in uniform holding his musket across his chest. The following information was obtained from the Regimental and Descriptive Rolls, Volume 20: He resided in Mitchell, Iowa. On December 07, 1861, he enlisted in Mitchell, Iowa and on February 02, 1862, he was mustered into service in Madison, Wisconsin at the age of 49. On June 11, 1862, he was left on Island No. 10, Tennessee to recover from an illness, but due to the illness he was discharged on August 03, 1862, on Island No. 10, Tennessee. |
