Vignetted quarter-length head and shoulders profile cabinet card portrait of Andrew Torguson [as written on portrait; also written as Andrew Torkelson on Descriptive Rolls, Volume 20; written as Andrew Torkilson on publish roster: Wisconsin Volunteers: War of the Rebellion, 1861-1865 (1914); also as Andrew Torkildson (Roster of Wisconsin Volunteers: War of the Rebellion, 1861-1865 [Vol. 1] (1886), a private in Company I, 15th Wisconsin Infantry. The following information was obtained from the Regimental and Descriptive Rolls, Volume 20: He resided in Scandinavia, Wisconsin. On November 5, 1861, he enlisted in Scandinavia, Wisconsin and on December 20, 1861, he was mustered into service in Madison, Wisconsin at the age of 27. He was wounded severely in the hand on May 14, 1864, at Resaca, Georgia. He was sent to a hospital in Nashville, Tennessee, but later transferred to a hospital in Madison, Wisconsin where he was last heard from. |
