Capt. Andrew A. Brown
Quarter-length portrait of Andrew A. Brown, a captain in Company H, 15th Wisconsin Infantry, in uniform. The following information was obtained from the Regimental and Descriptive Rolls, Volume 20: He resided in Chicago, Illinois. He was mustered into service in Madison, Wisconsin at the age of 21. Originally he joined as a private, but was later commissioned as a first lieutenant. He was promoted again to captain on June 3, 1863. He was wounded in the arm on July 21, 1864, near Atlanta Georgia. He was mustered out of service with his company on February 13, 1865, at Chattanooga, Tennessee. |
