One of Hazzard's most successful shows, the play ran for 435 performances in its initial run at the Gaiety Theatre. In 1922 it was made into a film, and in 1981 a musical play produced by Buddy Ebsen (which Ronald Reagan promoted tirelessly). The original "pals" were played by William E. Meehan (Mugs), Frank Nelson (Gilly) and Forrest Winant (Joe). |
