Description: Senator Gaylord Nelson (right) with his home secretary and Democratic Party Chairman Louis Hanson (left) at Hotel Wausau event. With them is David R. Obey who won a special election in 1969 for Melvin's Laird's seat in Congress. Although undated it is likely the photograph dates from before the election and Nelson was there to support Obey's candidacy.
