Dr. Eloise Gerry
Dr. Eloise Gerry poses with "Black Mint of the Congo," a Basenji or barkless dog of Africa. Dr. Gerry, retired from the United States Forest Products Laboratory, has raised Basenjis since 1942 as one of a small number of breeders in the country. She was the only woman on the staff of the new Forest Products Lab in 1910. She did research in the field of naval stores, the production of turpentine and resins. |
