Title: The Hocums
Description: Composite photograph of one man and two women standing on top of two horses pulling a buggy. The three figures are glued onto the photograph containing the horses. The man is wearing a suit, and the women are wearing costume dresses and holding umbrellas. The horses have plumes glued to the tops of their heads. The performers are identified as the Hocums. They performed chiefly with the Gollmar Bros. Circus. The Gollmar Bros. started their own circus in 1891 and operated until 1916, spending the winters in Baraboo, Wisconsin. After 1916 the Gollmar name was leased to other circuses, and last used in 1926.
