State Fair Centennial Mural Study Sketch
Prior to the 1948 State Fair, artist Robert Hodgell traveled Wisconsin to study its many landscapes. He then produced a series of study sketches outlining the mural compositions. This is one of his original study sketches. This scene shows a farmer harvesting oats with a pull-behind combine. It also includes a vintage commercial airplane flying low over the Wisconsin countryside. |
