Title: Union Breastworks on Culp's Hill
Description: A stereograph made by Mathew Brady about two weeks after the battle of Gettysburg, showing his two assistants gazing eastward from the extreme right of the Union line at Gettysburg. On the first day of the battle, the Wisconsin regiments in the Iron Brigade experienced fierce combat to the west of Gettysburg, and they were withdrawn to a position near the location depicted here. The 6th Wisconsin engaged in further combat on Culp's Hill, the 2nd and 7th Wisconsin regiments were held in reserve on July 2nd and July 3rd.
