Title: Front Porch of Thompson House
Description: Exterior of a home taken by a civil rights volunteer. "The front porch of our home at Mrs. Willie Thompson's, 808 Augusta, McComb, Mississippi. The house was on a street that had no lights and was unpaved. We could not remain on the porch during heavy rain, but it was a welcoming cool spot in the early morning and late evening. [...] Reverend Clare Nesmith and I were sitting here when two white men came, greeted us quite warmly, and went inside to see Mrs. Thompson. The Thompson's daughters were about finished with cleaning the car. The two white men came out and the driver purposefully gunned the motor, sending great dust from the always unpaved road onto the cleaned car. The girls had to start over their cleaning job."
