Join Wisconsin Public Television in this special presentation of its documentary, Bottoms Up: A Toast to Wisconsin's Historic Bars & Breweries. The documentary is based on the Wisconsin Historical Society Press book "Bottoms Up: A Toast to Wisconsin's Historic Bars and Breweries.” Both celebrate Wisconsin's taverns and the breweries that fueled them. Beginning with inns and saloons, the book explores the rise of taverns and breweries, the effects of temperance and Prohibition, and attitudes about gender, ethnicity and morality. The book features 70 taverns and breweries from around the state.

Jim Draeger and Mark Speltz, coauthors of the book, will be in Deforest to talk about 'Bottoms Up.' A book signing will follow.
