National Digital Newspaper Program (NDNP) Website

The National Digital Newspaper Program (NDNP) website is now available. This initiative is a partnership between the National Endowment of the Humanities (NEH) and the Library of Congress (LC), to develop an Internet-based, searchable database of all U.S. newspapers with descriptive information and select digitization of historic pages.

The Website contains information, technical documents, and news about the program and newspaper digitization.

Library of Congress and National Science Foundation announce Digital Preservation Research awards

On May 4, 2005, the Library of Congress National Digital Information Infrastructure and Preservation Program (NDIIPP) and the National Science Foundation awarded eight university teams a total of $3 million to undertake pioneering research to support the long-term management of digital information. These awards were the outcome of a partnership between the two agencies to develop the first digital-preservation research grants program.
