Titus, William A., 1868-1951 "Historic spots in Wisconsin"

Historic Spots in Wisconsin: Subtitled "Trempealeau: A French Outpost of the 17th Century and a State Park of Today," this short piece (which includes a photograph) summarizes the fur trade career of Nicolas Perrot (1644-1718), especially the years after 1685 when he was most active in the upper Mississippi River valley. It relies on early printed documents and archaeological work to give background on the recently established state park. (4 pages)
