Pedrick, Samuel M. "Early history of Ripon College, 1850-1864"

Early History of Ripon College, 1850-1864: This article recounts the institution’s origins in an 1850 meeting of reformers that included Alvan Bovay (1818-1903) and Warren Chase (1813-1891). It then details the erection of first buildings, college finances, and similar concerns until it opened its doors in 1853. It contains nothing on student life or curricular matters, though it does include a photograph. (15 pages)
