Early Farmers in Exeter: The author was born in Ireland in 1843 and came to Wisconsin in 1851 as a girl of eight. Her family settled in the Little Sugar River region of Green Co., and she describes here many of her neighbors, especially their personal habits, religious beliefs, personalities, family lives, and homesteading, as well as her time in the village school.
