Autobiography of Charles M. Baker: Baker (1804-1872) was a Yankee attorney who came to Wisconsin in 1838 and settled in Geneva, Walworth Co. His brief memoir, written in 1868, describes his first lawsuit, his time serving on the Territorial council and other appointments, homesteading in a log cabin, and his return to New England in 1865.
