Memoirs of Mary D. Bradford: Mary D. Bradford's (1856-1943) memoirs relate her experiences as Superintendent of Public Schools in Kenosha, Wisconsin. Bradford recalls her time as a woman Superintendent and why many women at the time had not taken on similar public roles and positions of power. She also describes her administrative and political struggles with local school boards and politicos. Throughout the article, Bradford relates her troubles succeeding as a woman in a male-dominated work world. (37 pages)
