Wisconsin Man Inventor of Folding Film Roll Kodak Features: Peter Houston (1834-1914) of Cambria, Wisconsin invented the first film-puncturing device, which indicated when an exposure length of film had reached the required position. The article details Houston's deeply intellectual mind and his brother's quest to patent his inventions. George Eastman (1854-1932), the creator of the Kodak camera, pays special tribute to Peter Houston's ingenuity. After purchasing Houston's patents and utilizing Houston's advances in photography, Eastman was able to make photography available to the masses. (9 pages)
