Documents: A Glimpse of Early Merrimac: Contributed by Grace Partridge Smith, these letters were written to a Mrs. Unity Fales Partridge at Templeton, Massachusetts by her sons James Otis and Maynard while they temporarily resided at Merrimac, Sauk County, Wisconsin, from 1857 to 1858. The documents illuminate some of the social and economic conditions in Wisconsin during this period. (4 pages)
