Holway, Chester P., 1908-1986 "The crooked Kickapoo"

The Crooked Kickapoo: The Chicago, Milwaukee, and St. Paul Railroad follows the Kickapoo River through the Kickapoo Valley in Wisconsin. The River snakes northward through the towns of Steuben, Gays Mills, Radstown, Viola, Wilton and La Farge. The railroad runs through the Driftless Area, which is a stretch of land in southwestern Wisconsin that was untouched by the glaciers, and thus, has many valleys, hills, and noteworthy rock formations. Between La Farge and Wilton in the Kickapoo Valley, the River passes under thirty-four bridges. (4 pages)
