Gores, Stan "The attempted assassination of Teddy Roosevelt"

The Attempted Assassination of Teddy Roosevelt: This article describes the assassination attempt on Theodore Roosevelt (1858-1919) made in Milwaukee by John Schrank (1876-1943) on Oct. 14, 1912. Most of the article discusses the events that unfolded after the assassination attempt: Roosevelt's insistence on continuing his speaking obligations in Milwaukee, his refusal to have a medical examination, and his eventual hospitalization at Mercy Hospital in Chicago. Schrank's motivation and what happened to him after he made the attempt on Roosevelt's life are also examined. (9 pages)
