Holway, Chester P., 1908-1986 "A visit to Mineral Point and Taliesin"

A Visit to Mineral Point and Taliesin: This is a first-person account of the author's 1939 visit to Mineral Point, in Iowa County, and Taliesin, the home and design center of Frank Lloyd Wright (1867-1959) located near Spring Green (Sauk County). Holway (1908-1986) describes visiting lead mines and the restored homes Pendarvis and Polperro in Mineral Point, and gives a brief biography of Wright. He then describes Wright’s accomplishments and the interior of Taliesin in detail, where he attended a small dinner party. (12 pages)
