John Steuart Curry: This is a short biography of the famous artist from Kansas, John Steuart Curry (1897-1946). He came to Madison, Wisconsin, to teach at the University of Wisconsin when the art program was part of the College of Agriculture. Many of his works focused on Kansas, war and anti-war themes, Wisconsin subjects, American history, the abolition of slavery, and illustrations for important books. (5 pages)
