Lambrecht, Ralph E. "A Wisconsin legend: Ole Evinrude and his outboard motor"

A Wisconsin Legend: Ole Evinrude and His Outboard Motor: This biographical article recounts the history of the Evinrude outboard motor company and its founder Ole Evinrude (1877-1934). It discusses his childhood, early jobs with machinery manufacturers, and youthful inventions. Though Evinrude did not invent the first outboard motor, in 1907 he designed an engine that met with great success. The article chronicles the companies he started: Evinrude, ELTO (Evinrude Light Twin Outboard), Outboard Motors Corporation (OMC), and after his death in 1935, Outboard Marine and Manufacturing Corporation (OMMC).
