The Recreations of Uncle Wallace
Wallace Donelson Rumsey, the photographer's younger brother, is doing a back flip dive off a raft into Archibald Lake. He was named after Civil War General Wallace and the battle of Fort Donelson. Holt's father Captain I.P. Rumsey served as Assistant Adjutant to General W. H. L. Wallace at Fort Donelson and Shihloh. The natural shoreline of trees and grasses is in the background. |
