NOTES
Additional Information:A 'site file' exists for this property. It contains additional information such as correspondence, newspaper clippings, or historical information. It is a public record and may be viewed in person at the Wisconsin Historical Society, State Historic Preservation Office. This house, which was built in 1854 of local cobblestones by George J. Kellogg (See Bib. Ref. A), is the only Gothic Revival styled cobblestone house in Rock County. The residence, which was the home of a pioneer nurseryman, was demolished on February 27, 1987. Had it survived, the structure would have been considered architecturally significant in that it possessed high artistic values, it represented a type, period, or method of construction, and it was a visual landmark in the area. In 1982, Dr. and Mrs. John Damrow owned the the dwelling.
