This diminutive brick chapel exhibits features of the Romanesque Revival and Gothic Revival styles. Romanesque Revival features include the compound arch entrance typanum, corner buttresses, and pinnacles. The pointed-arch window openings are typical of the Gothic Revival style.

Restoration of the chapel in 1969 included re-roofing, re-pointing the brick, and repainting the metal spire.
TOTAL RESTORATION DONE IN 2007 WITH ASSISTANCE FROM JEFFRIS FOUNDATION.
Historical Statement:
This chapel was built in 1901 by the Mt. Olivet Cemetery Association. In 1969 the chapel was restored in memory of the Philip Carrol family, early Janesville area settlers.
IT WAS GIVEN A TOTAL RESTORATION IN 2007. INSIDE IS A COPY OF THE PIETA STATUE AND THE GRAVE OF FATHER GEORGE STRICKNER, AN EARLY PRIEST IN WISCONSIN.
