Low Cloud, Charles Round 1872 - 1949 | Wisconsin Historical Society
(Note: birth date given in original as "ca. Dec. 1872.") Winnebago Indian, newspaper columnist, b. Jackson County. He attended Carlisle Indian Institute, Pa., for 5 years. After returning to the Indian mission near Black River Falls, he wrote a column, "The Indian News," for the Black River Falls Banner-Journal. He was known for his kindly Indian- English homespun philosophy, pungent comments, and unpolished style of writing.
