2018 Local History-Historic Preservation Conference Scholarship | Wisconsin Historical Society

For 2018, the Wisconsin Historical Society, in conjunction with the Wisconsin Council for Local History, has allocated up to $3,000 in scholarship aid to supporting continuing public history education for undergraduate and graduate students. The Society will award a limited number of scholarships, assisting individuals to attend the Wisconsin Historical Society’s annual Local History-Historic Preservation Conference.

Recipients can receive funding assistance of up to $300 for conference registration fees and lodging.


Applicants must be individuals who are undergraduate or graduate students currently enrolled in a Wisconsin institution of higher education. Eligible fields of study include, but are not limited to, History, Public History, Historic Preservation, Museum Studies, Library and Information Sciences, Planning fields, Landscape Architecture, and Anthropology. Recipients must use the funds to attend the Wisconsin Historical Society’s Local History-Historic Preservation Conference.

No advanced payments will be made; recipients will be reimbursed for conference registration and lodging expenses supported by documentation. Recipients are solely responsible for any tax obligations.
