Type of Employment: Part-time LTE (10-20 hours per week). Work hours are flexible during regular business hours.

Salary: $10 - $11.50

Introduction

As part of the Library, Archives, and Museum Division of the Wisconsin Historical Society, this position is located at the auxiliary State Archive Preservation Facility.

 

Job Duties

Under a lead worker and the Collections Coordinator, this position assists with the management of incoming materials from the library and archives and with daily operations at the State Archive Preservation Facility during the library, archives, and museum collections move. This work includes cleaning and sorting books, scanning barcodes, and shelving trays of books. Additionally, this position will help out with archives deliveries by escorting movers and scanning barcodes. The person in this position must be comfortable using a computer and database software.

 

Job Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

  • Ability to follow complicated instructions and protocols.
  • Ability to attend to a fine level of detail.
  • Ability to correctly sort, organize and arrange materials according to assigned principles.
  • Familiarity with standard office software applications such as MS Word and Excel.
  • Ability to work effectively as a member of a team.
  • Ability to communicate effectively, both in writing and verbally, with supervisors and colleagues.
  • Ability to lift boxes and book trays up to 50 pounds.
  • Ability to hold a Wisconsin driver’s license.
