ADDITIONAL INFORMATION
Photograph donated by Colleen O'Dea Potter. Originally bound into a photo album.

Noted by donor, Reservoir Park is located at 110 Glenway, between Glenway and Larkin. It is a large concrete container, divided into two sections and holds 6,000,000 gallons. Water is pumped into it for storage and pumped out as it is needed. The booster pump is to be replaced (or has been replaced) with two new pumps, so it is still in use. It was built about 1925-26 by O'Dea and Shafer. (O'Dea is my grandfather, Thomas A. O'Dea.) It was supposed to be 200 feet on a side and 25 feet deep, 10 feet underground. These were the specifications reported in the newspapers in the 20's. It is covered with earth and currently seems to be a hill with a flat grassy top and brushy sides. There are stairs to the top and a couple small buildings for access. The booster pump building is on the side, at street level. At one time there used to be a slide down the side (now removed) and a baseball diamond on top. A lot of folks call it Radio Park for the radio tower next to it.
