Birthplace of Flag Day Historic Marker
Outdoor view of crowd gathered behind the newly unveiled Birthplace of Flag Day historical marker. The historical marker was dedicated on the 77th anniversary of the first Flag Day celebration hosted by school teacher Bernard J. Cigrand at the Stony Hill School. Speakers included Judge Chas Larson, Ozaukee County Historical Society Director and master of ceremonies, Raymond Sivesind, supervisor of sites and markers of the Wisconsin Historical Society, Alex Benz, president of Fraternal Flag Day Foundation, Joseph C. Hames, vice-president of the Ozaukee County Historical Society, and Mrs. Arnold H. Barr, president of the Ozaukee County Historical Society. |
