Brush Raft on Pine Lake
An unidentified man is inspecting a construction of logs and branches, stacked neatly and tied with ropes. He is standing on ice on a cleared area of a snow-covered lake, and is wearing high boots and a hat. The description on the reverse of the photograph explains: "When the ice melted, this brush tangle, weighted with sand bags, sank to the bottom of the lake, where it forms an ideal refuge for young fish. Similar structures have been placed in other lakes in Lincoln County on the WPA lake and stream improvement program." |
